The Factory

The Factory28 Portland Square, St Pauls

We have been occupying 28 Portland Square since March 2010 when we began the long and arduous process of cleaning, fixing and building to transform it from derelict wreck to usable space.

Currently the ground floor and first floor are social centre space – that is, open to the public for non-commercial use for free or donation. So far, we have a large function room available for meetings, workshops etc., a screen printing/art room, apothecary, large multi-functional space on the ground floor, facilities for film screenings, trapeze, metalwork and more.

We welcome community group use for meetings, workshops, activities and events. There is no charge for use of the space but donations are accepted if you are able to. Better than money is practical help through participation in care taking – though again this is no way compulsory if you want to use the space.

We have open meetings every Thursday at 7PM, everyone is welcome. If you have a plan for a project or activity, or just want to get involved then come along.
There is a lot of building work being done on the building and help is always needed. We have work days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon. Come along and share your skills or learn some new ones.

Please email: or telephone: 01179249533 to get in touch about anything!
